1. Who is responsible

2. Overview

This website is designed to collect as little personal data as possible. It does not use cookies, analytics, tracking, advertising, social media plugins, embedded maps or videos, or a contact form. The fonts are stored on this website itself, so your browser does not connect to Google or any other font provider.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., San Francisco, USA. When you visit the website, Netlify automatically processes technical data that your browser sends: your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. This is technically necessary to deliver the website and to keep it secure and stable.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable delivery of this website. Netlify processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Data may be transferred to the USA. Such transfers are based on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The log data is deleted as soon as it is no longer needed for these purposes.

4. Contact by email

If you write to hello@begumkoyuncu.com, your message and the details it contains (such as your name, email address and anything you choose to share) are used only to reply to you and, if you wish, to arrange an introductory call or sessions.

Emails to this address are received through the email forwarding service of Namecheap, Inc., Phoenix, USA, and forwarded to the inbox used for this practice. Data may therefore be processed in the USA. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (our interest in answering enquiries).

Please share only what is needed for a first contact. Email is not end-to-end encrypted. If you include information about your health in your message, you do so voluntarily, and it is processed only to respond to you (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). Personal matters are best discussed in the introductory call.

Your messages are deleted when they are no longer needed, unless statutory retention periods (for example under tax law) require us to keep them longer.

5. Counselling sessions

If you start counselling, you will receive separate information on how your data is handled during the sessions, including the video service used.

6. Encryption

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by "https://" and the lock icon in your browser's address bar.

7. Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can withdraw any consent you have given at any time with effect for the future. To exercise these rights, simply write to hello@begumkoyuncu.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for Berlin is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.

8. Changes

This privacy policy is updated whenever the website changes. Last updated: October 2026. The German version is legally binding.

Psychological counselling is not psychotherapy within the meaning of the German Psychotherapy Act (PsychThG) and does not replace medical or psychotherapeutic diagnosis or treatment.

Begüm Koyuncu does not present herself as a licensed psychotherapist (Psychologische Psychotherapeutin) on this website, and no title implying licensed psychotherapist status is used.
